The most exquisitely gorgeous globe thistle there ever was. Despite its prickly appearance and silvery blue colour, it attracts a large number of bees and butterflies.
It is enchanting whether it is growing in the garden or being shown in a vase, and it also makes a magnificent dried flower.
Because Echinops is a perennial plant, you might receive a few blossoms during the first year, but you might have to wait until the next year before they get going and also start to self-seed like crazy.

Seed Quantity: 50 Seeds

Type: Perennial

Genus: Echinops ritro

Sow Seeds: Sow indoors March-May onto seed compost and cover only very lightly.  Keep damp whilst germinating.

Plant Out: Harden off before planting out after all frosts have passed.  Likes full sun and well-drained soil.  Can be direct sown from late April-early May

Flowers: August onwards

Height & Spread: 1.2m high x 30-60cm spread
