The Aji Largo Rocoto is a unique variety of Rocoto chilli pepper.  This pepper variety is named after a priest from La Palma in the Canary Islands. 

Typical of all Rocoto type chillies is the fact that the seeds are black, unlike the standard creamy colour on most other chillies.

  • Genus: Capsicum Pubescens
  • Scoville Rating (SHU): Aji Largo Rocoto chillies are considered one of the hottest Rocoto varieties.  30,000 to 100,000 SHU
  • Plant Size: Can grow to 4 feet tall and compact
  • Pod Size: It has elongated, lantern-shaped fruits that typically grow to about 2.5 inches long. The colour of the fruits can range from green to yellow to red as they ripen
  • Flavour Profile: Beyond the heat, these chillies offer a complex flavour profile that includes fruity, smoky, and slightly sweet notes.

All plants are grown on our farm in Norfolk, UK and are grown in an open pollinated area.
