Sophisticated and beautiful Dara.
Although Daucus Carota 'Dara' is technically classified as a biennial, you may manage it just like a hardy annual, giving you more control over when its flowers appear.
Indoor sowing should begin in January or February for flowers to begin appearing in May; outdoor sowing can take place in April or May for flowers to appear in the summer and autumn.
Flowers will bloom the following year if you sow the seeds between June and September, just like you would with other biennial plants If you enjoy flowers with lacey details, you will adore this one.
Long stems and feathery foliage are characteristic of the Daucus Dara plant, which is capped by huge flowers in burgundy and soft pink. When planted in drifts along borders, they appear like softly floating clouds.
Daucus Dara also makes a wonderful cut flower, adding a laid-back meadow vibe to arrangements

Sow Seeds: Sow the seeds directly into the ground in April and lightly cover with soil. Cloches can be used to protect seeds if they are sown early on. Or sow into modules Jan-Feb and keep undercover to transplant outside when the seedlings are stronger. They can also be sown as a biennial. Germination can be slow

I have ordered many seeds from this website, the delivery is reasonable and so are the seeds. I get fantastic germination and am no expert. I have tried other seed companies and nothing compares. This is a very safe bet and one that you won’t regret.

I’ve made 3 orders with bishy barnabees cottage garden so far (spending between £20-30 each time) and every time the seeds have been dispatched quickly. For a small business getting my order within a week is excellent! Ive had amazing rate of germination on every species of seed I’ve sown. The young plants are all healthy and look likely to become healthy adult plants by summer. I’ve interacted with the owner on social media too and can honestly say she’s lovely!

Sowed the Dahlia Seeds last week - (in a suitable Pot on the Kitchen Window Sill - which serves as my greenhouse) the sturdy little Dahlia seeds were through in two days and are looking very healthy and happy! Obviously very fresh seeds in the packet.
The Sanctuary wax melts have a lovely spa fragrance that lasts for ages. Loved them so much I ordered more. I haven't tried the lemon and ginger yet. Excellent quality and service.
