Similar to French tarragon, but produces a plant that is hardier and more robust. The aromatic foliage of the Russian Tarragon plant, which is lance-shaped and develops branching stems, can be used to make tarragon vinegar, as an ingredient in white sauces and salad dressings, or as a complement to dishes made with chicken, fish, and eggs.

Sow Seeds

Sow indoors April-May and keep at 15-20℃.  Do not cover the seed as light aids germination.  Germination takes 14-21 days.  Transplant into individual pots when large enough to handle.

Acclimatise before planting out after all risk of frost has passed.  Needs a sunny, sheltered spot.
