A gorgeous cottage garden favourite with a fantastic long flowering season. Producing pincushion-type flowers on strong stems in shades of pink, rose, lavender, maroon and white.

Scabious flowers make the most beautiful cut flowers and are irresistible to pollinators.

Sow Seeds

Sow March-April or September 3mm deep into well-drained moist seed compost.  Keep at 15-18 degrees whilst germinating which can take 14+ days.  Transplant into 8cm pots when large enough to handle and grow on.

Plant Out For autumn sowings keep the seedlings in an unheated greenhouse to over winter and plant out the following spring
