I love Rudbeckia, I joined the Rudbeckia party quite late for some reason, never quite noticing their beauty, until a few years ago. But now that I do I’m making up for lost time and wouldn’t want a garden without them.
They are so hard-working, flowering from summer through to autumn and producing fabulous, large flowers to bring colour to the garden for months.
These ones are vaguely retro; with stunning, autumn colours for the petals and a darker centre, reminding me slightly of 1970s-style curtains….which I realise might not be a selling point for everyone but it is for me!
Regularly deadhead or cut for the house to extend the flowering season.
