The nasturtium is a wonderful flower. Not only are they cheery, lovely, and brilliant with their sun-kissed faces and exquisite trailing vines, but they also make an excellent companion plant. It will help to keep aphids away from French and runner beans if you plant them nearby.
To top it all off, the blooms and leaves are delicious and can be used to provide a peppery accent to salads, on pasta, or as a garnish. In addition, they are quite appealing to a wide variety of pollinators.
They will flower for you throughout the entire summer and provide a wonderful ground cover that is beautiful in shades of orange and yellow. To tell you the truth, you won't come across a more generous flower to cultivate.
