Squash Turks Turban – 10 Seeds
One of our favourites. Such a distinctive and fabulous squash.
The colour and the shape make it such a beautiful, decorative vegetable but it’s good to cook with too. Baked, steamed, or stuffed, it’s at its tastiest when picked fairly young.
Sow April- Early June, one seed per pot into good seed compost and keep warm (they need 21 degrees to germinate), make sure to harden them off carefully before planting out when all risk of frost has passed. Space them 30 cm apart into well-drained but moisture-retentive soil.
You will know when the squash are ready to harvest by tapping them….they sound hollow when ripe. Turks Turban can be stored happily for several months making these a really useful vegetable to grow.
