With whirling spirals and a vivid lime green colour……this is such a wonderfully different and interesting veg to grow.
Broccoli Romanesco has been around since the 16th century. It tastes somewhere between a cauliflower and broccoli but with a hint of nuttiness.
Snap off the spears and cook as you would with broccoli or steam the full heads and include in many different dishes.

- Can be sown indoors Mar-April or outdoors Apr-May. Sow successionally every 3-4 weeks throughout this time for a continuous supply
- If sowing outdoors, sow into drills 10mm deep
- If sowing indoors, harden off before planting out
- Space 60cm apart and keep well watered
- Protect from slugs/snails and birds
- Likes full sun
- Height 45cm. Harvest from Aug-Oct
